Aluminum Frame
Deerskin Mfg offers aluminum framing on Lightweight Slide-In Boxes only. There is not an advantage to using aluminum frames since aluminum tubing weighs the same as steel tubing as shown below:
1x1x16 Gauge Steel Tubing = .8265 lbs per foot
1x1x16 Gauge Stainless Steel Tubing = .8260 lbs per foot
1 1/2x1 1/2x.125 Aluminum Tubing = .8250 lbs per foot
20’ of 1” Steel Tubing = 16.53 lbs
20’ of 1” Stainless Steel Tubing = 16.52 lbs
20’ of 1 ½” Aluminum Tubing = 16.50 lbs
